The unparalleled EMI resilience allows Valens to operate over the most challenging channels and provides system designers with unprecedented flexibility for a scalable, streamlined sensor connectivity infrastructure… Read more —>
First, Valens can take high bandwidth links further than any competing solution. For example, here you can see an 8Gbps link extended up to 30 meters, or 98 feet over a Coax cable. and here, the Valens chip is doing 8Gbps over a point eight eight mm (0.88mm) micro-Coax cable – perfect for applications that could benefit from decreased form factor and flexible connectivity, like a robot arm.
Here, you can see the Valens solution operating over simple Unshielded Twisted Pair cables – this is the only solution capable of multi-gig connectivity over these channels, and in this demo, we’re doing 4Gbps over UTP, which is truly unheard of! Operating over unshielded cables presents a few benefits: First, these cables are more flexible and second, they present a system cost saving, both on the cable and the connectors, where designers can take advantage of existing shared multi pin connectors in the system instead of dedicated connectors per link.
And finally, we have 4Gbps connectivity over a rotating slip ring, which could be used for rotating components that require swivel movements.
Valens High Speed sensor connectivity solutions are truly unique, pushing the boundaries of connectivity, capable of maintaining signal integrity when other solutions on the market can’t. We are excited to see what advancements and innovations this MIPI A-PHY technology will enable in the machine and embedded vision industry.
