About the Role

Valens is looking for a Validation and Integration Engineer. In this role, you will take ownership of system-level validation and integration efforts for our chip products – from defining test strategies through execution and sign-off. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers throughout the full product lifecycle, playing a hands-on role in bringing new silicon features to production quality.

This is a technical, hands-on position suited for engineers with experience in chip development environments who understand the complexity of validating combined HW/FW systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Define, design, and implement system-level test strategies and validation plans for new HW and FW features
  • Execute both manual and automated system testing across the project lifecycle – from early silicon bring-up to production readiness
  • Lead system integration efforts for new hardware and firmware features, identifying and resolving issues at the interface between subsystems
  • Work closely with HW engineers, FW developers, and application/product teams to define test requirements and coverage
  • Review technical specifications and translate them into structured test plans with clear coverage criteria
  • Identify, document, and track bugs; work with development teams to drive resolution
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test infrastructure and automation frameworks

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in system validation or integration testing of combined hardware and software systems
  • Background from a chip development company (fabless semiconductor, silicon IP, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, product lifecycle, and system-level debug
  • Ability to independently review technical specs and build comprehensive test coverage
  • Hands-on experience with test automation — writing or maintaining test scripts/frameworks
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Advantage:

  • Experience with USB protocol validation
  • Familiarity with high-speed SerDes interfaces or video/audio transmission standards
  • Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, signal generators
