Bring Your Own Device, and gain access to all the meeting room peripherals with a single cable and connector… Read more —>

In line with the growing popularity of this interface, peripheral vendors are also transitioning their devices to the Type-C connector.

However, putting a consumer-grade interface into a professional-grade space comes with challenges for installers, including reliability and distance.

Luckily, HDBaseT, the leading technology in professional audio-video, happens to converge and extend the exact interfaces that run over the Type-C connector. A match made in heaven.

What we’re showing here is Type-C to Type-C extension. A laptop connected via a USB Type-C connector to an HDBaseT transmitter, which leverages the Valens VS3000 chip.

The Extender sends the data over a standard Category cable to the HDBaseT receiver, which outputs the data directly to a display through a USB-C connection. The display, a Dell UltraSharp 43, contains a USB hub, which connects to a video bar, enabling a simple bring-your-own-meeting conferencing room setup, enjoying all the room peripherals.

As we like to say at the HDBaseT Alliance – if it’s USB Type-C, we’ve got you covered.
